Dermal fillers work in a slightly different manner than wrinkle correction treatments to obtain the desired effects. Dermal fillers use injectable hyaluronic acid to rejuvenate your face and smooth out wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid is derived from chemicals in the skin, which provides the skin with elasticity and hydration.

Unfortunately, due to our environment and ageing, we lose this naturally occurring chemical over time, but dermal fillers can replace and replenish hyaluronic acid. Dermal fillers are also an effective method for reducing the appearance of dark spots from ageing and sun damage.

Juvéderm®

Here at The Cosmetic Dental Gallery, we find that the Juvéderm® brand of dermal filler products is incredibly effective at reducing the appearance of ageing and dark spots. It plumps up the skin smoothly and restores your natural, youthful glow.

Why Juvéderm?

The Juvéderm® gel has a very smooth consistency, making it easy to work with and producing more consistent results compared to many other brands. The injections provide additional volume beneath the skin to enhance your features.

What is the difference between dermal fillers and wrinkle correction?

Dermal fillers are used to enhance your features, particularly in your cheeks and lips where we tend to lose volume due to ageing. Unlike wrinkle correction treatments, wrinkles may be reduced as a result of dermal filler treatment, but they are not specifically targeted.

While wrinkle correction treatments target wrinkles and fine lines, they will not reduce the appearance of dark spots from sun damage and ageing.

How long does the treatment last?

Dermal filler results can last up to a year before you need to make an appointment to return for touch-up injections. You should notice results almost immediately, with full results in just 4-7 days.
